Malibu Drug and Alcohol Rehab Treatment and Substance Abuse Facility Center At Malibu Horizon, treatment is about Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivation Enhancement Therapy. Each client is treated as a unique individual. Modern drug and alcohol treatment is done in a scientific manner. Malibu Horizon successfully treats addiction and alcoholism as brain disorders. Our clients receive more 1 to 1 individual therapy, as an integral part of clinical treatment for alcohol and drug abuse Equine therapy is a very effective method of building trust and improving relationship skills. It is one of the many components of the treatment program here at Malibu Horizon. Yoga and regular, proper exercise plays an important role in the alcohol drug treatment program here at Malibu Horizon.Times of quiet reflection, in the beautiful Malibu surroundings, are an integral part of the treatment process.

Admission Information

Pre-Admission Process

The Intake Staff will conduct an initial telephone interview with all prospective patients. Except when a prospective patient is being admitted after a formal intervention conducted by an Intervention Specialist. Malibu Horizon Intake staff will help coordinate the admission with the Family and Intervention specialist.

The Intake Staff will gather Chemical use/abuse and dependence information, medical (including psychiatric) history and prior treatment/recovery exposure. This will help determine the appropriate treatment options.  For the Chronic Pain patient we may request Medical Records prior to admission.

In addition, the Intake staff will assist you by verifying your health insurance. We can then discuss benefits and/or private pay options. 

Financing is available at 0% interest for 1 year (by independent credit source) on approved credit.

Transportation

Malibu Horizon understands this is a stressful time for both our clients and their family.

We are happy to assist with making travel arrangements. Clients are welcome to fly into either Burbank or Los Angeles International Airport. Malibu Horizon's driver will meet each client at the airport.

Our "door to door" policy insures safe, simple transportation directly to our facility and back to the airport, upon completion of treatment.

What to Bring

  • Documentation of a TB test within the past 6 months
  • Jeans, casual slacks, sport shirts, skirts, jogging suits, shorts such as Bermuda/walking shorts.
  • Undergarments
  • Lightweight jackets and sweaters are recommended for evening wear.
  • Walking Shoes and Sandals  
  • Personal toiletries
  • Electric razor/shaver
  • Insurance card      
  • Prescription card   
  • Prescribed medication in its own container that is clearly labeled.
  • Cell phones, laptops and I-pod (optional)
