Detox is carefully managed by Dr. Mohammad, a board certified addictionologist. Detox can be defined as the proper management of the withdrawal symptoms caused by the stopping of alcohol or drug use. At Malibu Horizon, the safe and comfortable management of withdrawal includes providing the proper supervision and medication to minimize the body’s reactions to going through the withdrawal process.

Alcohol Detox

Alcohol detoxification is the first step in our alcohol recovery program. When a heavy drinker stops drinking alcohol, withdrawal begins. Alcohol detox is the managing of the alcohol withdrawal symptoms.

Alcohol Withdrawal

Our staff is fully trained to make sure each client is cared for in the most professional manner At Malibu Horizon, alcohol withdrawal is very safe and comfortable.

Without the proper management, the symptoms of alcohol withdrawal may include vomiting, nausea, anxiety, hot and cold flashes, body aches, headaches, and drastic changes in sleeping and eating patterns. Benzodiazepine Detox

Benzodiazepines are a separate classification of prescription medication. They are primarily prescribed as anti-anxiety and insomnia medication. Ativan and Xanax detox are the most common drugs in this class of medication.
